Mason Mount saved Chelsea from defeat, draw against Southampton.

A decisive goal by Mason Mount helped Chelsea, led by manager Thomas Tuchel, play a 1–1 draw against Southampton in the English Premier League (EPL) on Saturday.

Takumi Minamino opened the account for Southampton in the 33rd minute with a goal from inside the box and the first half was named for the hosts.

Chelsea got a penalty in the second half and Mason Mount scored the team back in the 54th minute. The two teams then failed to score a goal and the match ended in a 1–1 draw.

Following this draw, Chelsea dropped West Ham by one point to the fourth place in the points table with 43 points from 25 matches while Southampton finished 13th by adding 30 points from 24 matches.

At the top is Manchester City’s team of managers Pep Guardiola with 56 points from 24 matches.

After the match, Tukel said, “I am very happy with the team’s initial 80 minutes of play but I am not happy with the last 20 minutes of the game.” We did not play aggressively.

The other matches of the day saw Burnley and West Brom end on a goalless draw.
