Mamta Banerjee’s Anger Is Not New On ‘Jai Shri Ram’ Slogan

Mamta Banerjee’s anger is not new on the ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogan; Didi was angry at times: West Bengal. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee (Didi) was angered by the BJP workers shouting Jai Shri Ram during the Parakram Divas celebrations held at Kolkata’s Victoria Memorial on Saturday to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present on the stage at that time and Mamta refused to give a speech expressing anger. He alleged in front of the PM and other distinguished people present there that there should be respect for the government program. It is not right to insult someone by calling them to the program. Actually, Mamta’s anger at Jai Shri Ram’s slogan is not new.

Earlier, during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, when Mamata Banerjee went for campaigning in West Medinipur district, BJP workers shouted slogans of Jai Shri Ram while her convoy passed. This angered Mamata so much that she stopped the convoy and alighted from the vehicle and instructed the police officers to take strict action against the slogan.

After this, many BJP workers were also arrested for raising the slogan of Jai Shri Ram. The Mamta government was also severely criticized for this action. After this, BJP workers shouted slogans of Jai Shri Ram in many other places including Bhatpara in the North 24 Parganas district to tease Mamta.

In Bhatpara too, Mamta stopped her convoy and got down from the car, and threatened to see BJP workers. He also reprimanded the police officers in front of everyone regarding this incident. Police later arrested 10 BJP workers shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in front of Mamta’s convoy, although they got bail.

To tease Mamta, BJP MP also sent 10 lakh postcards written Jai Shri Ram.

After this incident, newly elected BJP MP from Barrackpore, Arjun Singh, announced to send 10 lakh post cards with Jai Shri Ram written to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while sprinkling salt on the burn.

After this, lakhs of postcards were sent by post by BJP workers to the Chief Minister’s office and residence, due to which there was fierce politics between Trinamool and BJP. Arjun Singh, a Trinamool Congress MLA, joined the BJP just before the Lok Sabha elections.
