Mamta Banerjee To Meet Subramanian Swamy Today

Mamta Banerjee to meet Subramanian Swamy today amid Congress leaders joining TMC, speculation intensifies.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also meet Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.

It is discussed that apart from top Congress leaders, the Chief Minister can meet other leaders of the opposition. Mamata Banerjee will be in the national capital till November 25.

Mamta Banerjee to meet Subramanian Swamy: Mamata’s visit to Delhi comes days ahead of the winter session of Parliament, which is scheduled to begin on November 29.

Earlier, former JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Pavan Varma, Congress leaders Kirti Azad and Ashok Tanwar on Tuesday joined the TMC in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

During her Delhi visit, Mamata will discuss with PM Modi issues related to the jurisdiction of the Border Security Force (BSF), Tripura violence, and the development of the state.

It is believed that after the withdrawal of three agriculture laws, she will try to unite the opposition on many more issues, including the expansion of the BSF.

The BSF, which was earlier empowered to operate up to fifteen km in the states of Punjab, West Bengal, and Assam.

BSF has now been authorized to extend its jurisdiction to 50 km without the permission of the central or state government. Mamta is constantly opposing this move of the central government.

In October, Mamata had said that the West Bengal government, like the Punjab government, would oppose the Centre’s decision to increase the BSF’s jurisdiction in the border states.

She said that law and order is a state subject and West Bengal’s border with Bangladesh is completely peaceful. The Chief Minister also said that his government will run as per the laws of the state.

At the same time, BJP MP from West Bengal Soumitra Khan targeted Mamata saying that TMC had separated from Congress and now it is killing only Congress workers in the state.

Congress is preparing for its end by joining hands with TMC before the general elections.

He said that if Mamata becomes the face of opposition parties in the elections, the unity of the country will be in danger.
