Before that, the Congress Party has elected its Leader of Opposition. The Congress has elected Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha after Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Leader of the Opposition.

A letter has been written to the Upper House of Parliament, the Speaker of the Rajya Sabha, regarding the election of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha from the Congress.

The Congress has written to Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to appoint Kharge to the post of Leader of the Opposition after the end of Azad’s term.

After Ghulam Nabi Azad’s term ends on February 15, this post will be vacant. Ghulam Nabi Azad is a member of the Upper House from Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir are currently under delimitation after the removal of Article 370 and making it a Union Territory.
