Mallikarjun Kharge to be Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha after Ghulam Nabi Azad. The Congress has elected its new Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

The term of the incumbent Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad (Ghulam Nabi Azad) is ending on the last day of the budget session i.e. on 15 February.

Before that, the Congress Party has elected its Leader of Opposition. The Congress has elected Mallikarjun Kharge in the Rajya Sabha after Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Leader of the Opposition.

A letter has been written to the Upper House of Parliament, the Speaker of the Rajya Sabha, regarding the election of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha from the Congress.

The Congress has written to Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to appoint Kharge to the post of Leader of the Opposition after the end of Azad’s term.

After Ghulam Nabi Azad’s term ends on February 15, this post will be vacant. Ghulam Nabi Azad is a member of the Upper House from Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir are currently under delimitation after the removal of Article 370 and making it a Union Territory.

Assembly elections will be held after the delimitation is over. Only then elections for members of the upper house are possible.

Mallikarjun Kharge, a Dalit leader from Karnataka, was a Congress leader in the Lok Sabha from 2014 to 2019. The Congress party could not get the post of Leader of the Opposition in the past and present Lok Sabha as they were few in the House.

At least 10 percent of the total seats of the lower house are mandatory to claim for the post of Leader of the Opposition.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday while giving a passionate farewell to the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.

He said that the person who will replace Ghulam Nabi Ji will have difficulty in doing his job because He was not only concerned about his party but also about the country and the House.

Prime Minister Modi in his speech had expressed his opinion on many aspects related to Ghulam Nabi Azad.

Union minister Giriraj Singh retaliated over Rahul Gandhi’s comment on ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP government in the Lok Sabha against the new agricultural laws.

Describing the BJP government as the government of ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’, he said that due to these laws, a hoarding will increase, the mandis will end and farmers will have to depend on the mercy of industrialists.

Now Union Minister Giriraj Singh has attacked Rahul’s ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’ comment.

He said that he was referring to himself, his mother Sonia Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Gandhi and his brother-in-law Robert Vadra by saying ‘Hum Do Hamare Do’. He said this to a news agency outside Parliament.
