Malayalam Film Jallikattu became the official entry for Oscar, Kangana Ranaut resumed Bollywood bashing.
The Film Federation of India announced today that the Malayalam film Jallikattu will be India’s official entry in the Best International Feature Film category of the 93rd Academy Awards.
After this announcement, the process of congratulating the film’s producers and the actors associated with it started.

Jallikattu was released on 4 October 2019. The film is also currently available on Amazon Prime Video.
That is why Prime also expressed happiness over its official entry being selected for the Oscars.
Jallikattu is directed by Lijo Jose Pelisseri, while O Thomas Panicker is the producer. The story of the film is by S. Harish and R. Jayakumar, which is based on S. Harish’s short story Maoist.
The film stars Antoine Varghese, Chamban Vinod Jose and Sabumon Ebudusamad in pivotal roles. It is composed by Prashant Pillai, while cinematography is by Girish Gangadharan.
The film premiered on September 6 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Let us tell you that Zoya Akhtar’s film Gully Boy was selected as India’s official entry for the 92nd Academy Awards, which was also heavily judged by the jury.
However, Gully Boy was eliminated from the nomination race. The last Indian film to reach an Oscar Award nomination is Aamir Khan’s Lagaan.
For 20 years no Indian film has been able to attend the Oscar Awards nomination. The 93rd Academy Awards will be held in April next year.
