Mahatma Gandhi Death Anniversary: The President Paid Homage

Mahatma Gandhi Death Anniversary: The President while paying homage said – Walk on the path of truth and love.

The nation and the world today remember Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, on his death anniversary. On this day, on January 30, 1948 (he was assassinated by Nathuram Godse), he merged into the Five Elements.

Please tell that Martyr’s Day is also celebrated on Gandhiji’s death anniversary. Gandhiji is called by many names including Bapu, Mahatma, and Father of the Nation.

Gandhiji was born on 2 October 1869 in the city of Porbandar in the state of Gujarat. Gandhiji always taught the lesson of peace and non-violence and overcame every difficulty.

On his death anniversary, many other leaders from the President of the country paid tribute.

President Ramnath Kovind said, ‘On behalf of a grateful nation, my humble tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, who embraced martyrdom on this day.

We should follow his ideals of peace, non-violence, simplicity, purity of means and humility. Let us pledge to follow the path of their truth and love.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, ‘Tribute to Great Bapu on his death anniversary. His ideals continue to inspire millions.

On Martyr’s Day we remember the heroic sacrifices of all the great women and men who devoted themselves to the freedom of India and the good of every Indian. ‘

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary at the Gandhi statue in Chennai today.

Bapu’s journey had paved the way for the merger of Jammu and Kashmir

Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi came to Jammu and Kashmir on August 1, 1947 to meet the last Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh a few days before independence.

This was Mahatma Gandhi’s only visit to Jammu and Kashmir. This was his informal visit, but Maharaja Hari Singh is believed to have decided to merge Jammu and Kashmir with India after this visit.

Retired Major General Govardhan Singh Jamwal, witness of Mahatma Gandhi’s visit, told that when Mahatma Gandhi was in Kashmir, he was in Kashmir to give lieutenant’s paper at the same time.

Used to live with a relative in the camp itself. When it was learned that Mahatma Gandhi had come to Kashmir, he wished to meet him.

It was not possible to meet directly, but he definitely got a chance to listen. Those moments became memorable moments of my life.
