Maharani 2: Bhima Bharti will become a ‘larger than life character in the second season, Sohum Shah reveals the secrets of the character.

Maharani, a web series streamed on Sony-Liv, had received a lot of praise and now the fans are now eagerly waiting for its second season.

In the series, Huma Qureshi played the role of an illiterate woman and housewife living in the village.

She directly rises to the post of Chief Minister of the state and makes her the queen of politics, her husband Bhima Bharti.

This character was played by Sohum Shah.

While the first season focused on Huma’s character, the second season would focus on Soham’s character Bhima Bharti. Soham shared some interesting things about his character.

Soham told that this time also he is playing the same character in the series, but this time he will get to see a different side.

When you start understanding the character, then the fun of playing it is different. Bhima Bharti is one such character, which is larger than life.

Like the films of the seventies and eighties, powerful dialogues are its specialty. This character comes from a small place and I have grown up watching such films, so it’s like reminiscing nostalgia for me.

Soham made his OTT debut with the Emraan Hashmi starrer series Bard of Blood, which aired on Netflix.

He played a very important role in Abhishek Bachchan’s film The Big Bull, which came on Disney Plus Hotstar, but Soham’s biggest identity is still Tumbbad, in which he played the lead role and also produced it.

This mythological horror-thriller film, which came in 2018, continues to be discussed even today. Soham’s first popular film is Ship of Theseus.

This film directed by Anand Gandhi was also produced by Soham himself.

Regarding the selection of his characters, Soham says – Sometimes as an artist, there is consistency in your work. Keep playing the same character.

I am fortunate that all the characters I have played are different. Be it Tumbbad or Ship of Theseus or Maharani.

Sohum is currently shooting for Maharani 2. The second season is being shot at different locations.

Apart from Maharani 2, Soham will also be seen in Reema Kagti’s web series Fallen. Sonakshi Sinha is making her digital debut with this series.
