Mahant Narendra Giri Death Case: In the case of the suspicious death of Mahant Narendra Giri, CBI has registered a case, a six-member team will investigate.

The CBI has now taken over the investigation of the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and secretary of Niranjani Akhara Parishad, in Prayagraj on Monday.

A six-member team of CBI’s New Delhi unit will investigate the case.

The Yogi Adityanath government of the state had recommended a CBI inquiry into this case late on Wednesday night and has started the process with the CBI from Friday.

In the case of the suspicious death of Mahant Ji, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, the apex body of saints, in the Prayagraj Shri Math Baghambri Gaddi CBI will probe.

On Monday, the Delhi unit of CBI registered a case under section 306 of abetment to suicide in the suspicious death of Mahant Narendra Giri.

On the basis of the FIR registered in Prayagraj earlier also in the same section, now the CBI will also take forward the direction of its investigation.

CBI has constituted a six-member team for this case. This team will soon come to Prayagraj for investigation and start the investigation of the matter.

After the suspicious death of Mahant Narendra Giri, Amar Giri Pawan Maharaj had registered a case against three people under the section of abetment to suicide in George Town police station of Prayagraj.

Now the Delhi unit of CBI has registered an FIR in this section.

CBI will now investigate whether Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj was murdered or was abetted to commit suicide. Or was there any criminal conspiracy behind it?

A preliminary post-mortem report of the 72-year-old Mahant in Prayagraj revealed that the death was due to suffocation due to hanging.

The police have arrested him by registering a case against Aadya Prasad Tiwari, priest of Bade Hanuman temple, and his son Sandeep Tiwari.

Along with Anand Giri, his dear disciple, for abetting Mahant Narendra Giri to commit suicide here. All three are in Naini jail in judicial custody for 14 days.
