Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had earlier told them that if they have to protest, they should do it outside the house, but those four MPs again brought posters, and banners to the house.

The suspended Congress MPs are Manickam Tagore, Ramya Haridas, Jothimani, and TN Pratapan.

Lok Sabha Speaker had agreed to discuss inflation.

After the suspension, these four MPs expressed their protest in front of the statue of the Father of the Nation built in the courtyard of the Parliament.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha told him that he is ready to hold a discussion on inflation after 3 o’clock.

However, he said in a stern tone that if you want to show placards, you can show them outside the House. I am open to discussion, but I don’t think my kindness is my weakness.

After this, he adjourned the proceedings of the house till tomorrow. When the proceedings of the House started at 3 o’clock, the Leader of the Opposition again came with placards in hand.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi proposed that in view of the prejudicial conduct of these four members to the dignity of the House, they should be suspended from the proceedings for the remaining period of the current session.

After this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that the people of the country want to see the house running but it cannot run like this. I cannot allow such things.

If you want to show placards, show them outside the house. I am ready for discussion but don’t think that my kindness is my weakness.

The opposition has been demanding a discussion on inflation since the monsoon session began on July 18.

The presiding chairman announced.

Earlier, the presiding chairman Agarwal said that some members are continuously showing placards in front of the plinth which is not in consonance with the decorum of the House.

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha had also warned the members in this regard.

Aggarwal said that the Congress members were asked to heed the warning of the Lok Sabha Speaker and not show any kind of placard.

When still the matter was not accepted, he announced the suspension of four Congress MPs.

Presiding Chairman Rajendra Agrawal said, “Congress members Manickam Tagore, TN Pratapan, Jotimani, and Ramya Haridas are suspended from the service of the House for the remaining period of the monsoon session of Parliament for neglecting the authority of the Chair.”
