‘Lionsgate Play’ Announces Second Indian Original Web Series

‘Lionsgate Play’ announces the second Indian original web series, Sumeet Vyas’s ‘Jugadistan’ will be seen on OTT.

After Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, last year another major American OTT player Lionsgate Play released its first Indian Original show Hiccups & Hookups, knocking in the Indian OTT content space.

The show was streamed on the platform in November and now Lionsgate Play is ready with its second Indian Original show Jugaadistan.

On Tuesday, the OTT platform shared the first glimpse of the show through its social media accounts and revealed that the show will soon be streamed on Lionsgate Play.

It is a youth-targeting show starring Sumeet Vyas, Parambrata Chatterjee, Arjun Mathur, and Rukhsar Dhillon in lead roles. The theme of the show is based on love, friendship, and politics.

The show is directed by Akarsh Khurana. Sumeet Vyas gave the first glimpse of the show and wrote – This is the world, it only runs on jugaad.

Be it politics or studies, friendship or relationship, there is a jugaad here for everything. The show will be streamed on Lionsgate Play from March 4.

The focus has been on the dark side of college politics in Jugadistan. The story of the show is set in Delhi. There are only a large number of English titles currently available on Lionsgate Play.

Lionsgate Play entered the Indian OTT space last year with Hiccups & Hookups. The show featured Lara Dutta, Prateik Babbar, and Shinola in the lead roles. The show was directed by Kunal Kohli.

Director Akarsh Khurana said about the series- “I have done youth-centric, college-related projects in the past, but this one is completely different.”

It will show the dark side of college time and a Delhi that we don’t often see. College politics, student dynamics, side income – all these will feature stories on important topics.

“After all, college is the beginning of your adult life. The decisions we make then have far-reaching consequences.”
