Left and Congress alliance aim in Bengal will be to cut BJP’s Vote -CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said.

Sitaram Yechury, the general secretary of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) once again accused the BJP and the ruling party TMC in Bengal of trying to polarize votes in the upcoming assembly elections.

With this, Sitaram Yechury has made it clear that the main objective of the Left-Congress alliance in Bengal elections will be to prevent the anti-incumbent votes from going towards the BJP.

Yechury came to Kolkata for the first time since March 2019 to attend a meeting.

Speaking after the two-day meeting, Yechury said that there has been some initial discussion with the Congress on seat sharing and it is in the process.

He said that there has been a polarization in Bengal politics from BJP and Trinamool. He said that polarization suits both parties.

Regarding the peasant movement, Yechury said that there is also a sense of dissatisfaction against the policies of the Center in Bengal.

For example, farmers in Bengal are getting paddy at Rs 1250 per quintal while the purchase price is fixed at Rs 1880.

He said that we will remove polarization by raising issues of livelihood of the people and focus on jobs, health and education.

We have appealed to all parties, including the Congress, to join the demonstrations.

When asked about AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s role in the Bengal elections, Yechury said it was unclear what the mission of AIMIM was. We need to know where he stands.

Yechury also said that there is public anger against Trinamool. If someone takes a soft stand then the BJP will get the full benefit.

He said that those who intend to thwart such efforts of both these political forces in the state should adopt alternative policies.

Congress formed a committee for an electoral alliance with Left, handed over command to Adhir Ranjan.

The Congress has stepped up its preparations for the assembly elections to be held in Bengal. The Congress has formed a committee for electoral alliances with the CPI (M) -led Left Front (Left).

Through this, the sharing of seats and joint programs for the Bengal assembly elections will be discussed with the Left Front.

The Congress has been formed by Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, the chief of the Bengal Congress, headed by the Congress for the Bengal assembly elections.

Apart from Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, Abdul Mannan, Pradeep Bhattacharya, and Nepal Mahato have been included in the four-member committee.
