Lashkar-e-Taiba’s Top Commander Nadeem Abrar Arrested

Lashkar-e-Taiba’s top commander Nadeem Abrar arrested along with one of his accomplices, arms and equipment recovered: Nadeem Abrar Arrested.

On Monday, the police arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba’s divisional commander Nadeem Abrar along with one of his accomplices.

Nadeem and his accomplice are being interrogated with a reward of 10 lakhs.

It was Nadeem who attacked a CRPF patrol at Lavepora on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway on March 25, killing three CRPF personnel. The terrorists also took away the rifle of a martyred CRPF personnel.

Police have named Nadeem Abrar as a Lashkar terrorist.

But an intelligence officer monitoring counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir said that he had become part of a terrorist organization called People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF).

This terrorist organization had claimed responsibility for the Lavepora attack. In the past, three terrorists, including a foreign terrorist, who was killed in Sopore, were also told by the same organization as their members.

The rifle found from Khurshid, who was killed in Sopore, was also the same that was looted from the CRPF personnel killed in Lavepora.

Confirming Nadeem’s arrest, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that it is a big success.

At present, his interrogation is going on. Sources said that Nadeem Abrar was nabbed near Ansari Motor, a short distance from Parimpora police station on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway.

He was riding in an Alto car with one of his companions. When the policemen present at the block signaled the car to stop, Nadeem, who was driving the car, tried to turn back, but he was caught.

Seeing themselves surrounded, Nadeem and his companions tried to escape leaving the car, but they could not succeed.

A pistol, two grenades, and other paraphernalia were also recovered from them. Nadeem is a resident of Narbal, located about three kilometers from Parimpora.

The concerned police officials said that the arrest of Nadeem will prove to be a big blow to the terrorist organization PAFF operating in Kashmir.
