Landmine blast on LoC in Poonch, Pakistan breaks ceasefire; security forces open fire. A landmine blast took place on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. After this, security forces opened light firing. Army officials said that a landmine blast took place under suspicious circumstances in the forward area of the Krishnaghati sector this morning.
After this, the soldiers deployed on the Line of Control opened light retaliatory fire. There is no report of anyone being injured or a casualty in this incident. However, locals claimed that firing also took place from Pakistan’s side.
An encounter started between terrorists and security forces late Monday night in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir. Based on intelligence inputs, several surveillance and search operations were conducted by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF in the Panjtirthi area of Kathua.
Suspicious activity was observed on the night of March 31, which led to firing. On Tuesday (01 April) morning, the search and elimination operation was started again. According to the information received from the Indian Army, the search operation is still going on in the area.
It is believed that three terrorists are trapped in the cordon, who fled from the spot after the killing of their two fellow terrorists in Sufan. After this, these terrorists were seen in the Rui area yesterday. The Panjtirthi area lies ahead of the Rui area, which has been the traditional route of the infiltrators to reach Billawar.
Let us tell you that on Thursday, during the encounter in Juthana village of Kathua district, three terrorists were killed, while three police personnel were martyred. These were the soldiers of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Sources said that given the violent encounter, a cordon was put in place at night to prevent the three terrorists trapped in the forest from escaping. Earlier in the day, Deputy Inspector General Shiv Kumar Sharma said the operation will continue till the last terrorist is killed. He urged people living near the border to report any suspicious activity.
“The operation is ongoing, and Jammu and Kashmir Police will carry out its goal until not a single terrorist remains. In Reasi, he told reporters, “Our force is committed to eradicating terrorism and guaranteeing the security of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Security forces have intensified the search for the three with the help of aerial surveillance and sniffer dogs. The search area includes forest areas of Rui, Jhoothana, Ghati and Sanyal in Rajbagh area and parts of Billawar.
