Khargone Violence: The rioters looted jewelery and grains, set houses on fire, and left; The pain of Hindu families came out in the open.

The violence that broke out in Khargone city of Madhya Pradesh during the Ram Navami procession has left many families in pain of life.

The rioters wreaked havoc on Hindu families in seven areas of the city. Houses were set ablaze by throwing petrol bombs.

Somewhere they robbed the jewellery, then took away the grain from somewhere. Due to the panic of the rioters, 35 Hindu families from the affected areas have left their homes.

After six days the situation is still such that no one wants to return home. More than 75 houses were vandalized and arson in the riots.

If the happiness of a daughter’s marriage was robbed, only the rickshaw was burnt to support the livelihood of a family. Many people do not even have clothes, or grains left.

Many stories of riots are scattered in Sanjay Nagar, Kazipura, Bhatwadi Mohalla, Bhavsar Mohalla, Zamindar Mohalla, and Anand Nagar the city.

The pain of the people found in the riots increases after seeing the houses that have become ashes.

Nisha Chandne’s house was in the Muslim belt in Sanjay Nagar, which has now turned into rubble. The frenzied mob blew up Nisha’s house by throwing a burning cylinder.

There was no trace of the house left. On Saturday, 75-year-old Umrao Singh, along with his wife, was seen tying household items on a handcart in Kazipura.

He has been given shelter by a relative. Umrao says that he had seen and suffered riots before, but this time the courage has given the answer.

Earlier they used to rain only stones, but this time they were looted and set fire to the houses. Muslims don’t want us to stay here.

Rioters robbed wedding goods.

The marriage of Laxmi Muchhal of Sanjay Nagar was on April 14. On April 11, she had to apply turmeric, a day before the rioters robbed the house.

Lakshmi’s brother Satish and sister Anita Muchhal tell that the gift items, clothes, and rations were all looted, leaving only the idol and photo of the god, the marriage was postponed.

The house of Satish and Asha Panwar was also burnt nearby. The two-wheeler with which the daughter used to go to Laxmi College was also taken out of the house and burnt.

This area is adjacent to a Muslim settlement. Even after the fire of riots has cooled down, Hindu families no longer want to live here.

The house of Manohar Solanki of Kazipura was also burnt by the rioters. Manohar, who works in the hospital, says that two days ago, he had brought out the salary money, rioters also burnt it.

Wife Vimla tells that the rioters broke the door with Sabbal and entered the house. If she had delayed even 10 minutes to leave, rioters would have killed her.

Khargone Violence: The house is for sale.

There have been riots in Khargone three times in seven years. After every riot, some affected families in Hindu localities adjacent to Muslim areas sell their homes. Most of the houses are bought by Muslims.

The Malviya family of the locality is so scared of the riots that they have written outside the house that the house is for sale. Kajal Malviya says Papa does not want us to stay here for my and brother’s safety.

Husband goes by putting a current wire on the door.

Annapurna Bhavsar of Sanjay Nagar says that there is a Muslim settlement behind the house. Tried to break the back door in the riot.

Now the husband leaves the electric wire at the back door while leaving for his job.
