Keran Village, Bordering Pakistan, Got Electricity First Time

Keran village, bordering Pakistan, will have electricity for the first time after 73 years of independence. Keran village of Jammu and Kashmir will be able to watch Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech live on TV for the first time after 73 years of independence.

For the past 73 years, 12,000 family members used to get only three hours of electricity through generator sets in the evening of 6 to 9 pm in Keran village.

This will be the first time when there will be electricity in the morning on the day of Independence Day in the village. According to a report by media, State-based Kupwara District Collector Anshul Garg said that since last year we worked on the mission mode in the border area and completed our target within the time limit.

District Magistrate Garg said that not only electrification but roads are also being improved. Located on the banks of the Kishan Ganga River, Keeran is cut from Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir every year for about six months due to winter. Garg said that this year the BRO (Border Roads Organization) completed the construction of roads before winter.

Kupwara district shares a 170 km border with Pakistan. There are five assembly constituencies and 356 panchayats. A senior official of the Jammu and Kashmir administration said.

“The highest turnout is in all elections in this region.” According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, there has been a lot of development in the last year not only in the border district but also in the union territory.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 2,273 projects worth Rs 5,979 crore have been approved.

The government claims that the Jammu and Kashmir Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (JKIDFC) started many projects on which no work was being done.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 2,273 projects worth Rs 5,979 crore have been approved, of which 506 projects have been completed and 963 will be completed by March 2021.

Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Secretary Sheetal Nanda said, “The Center has released Rs 1,400 crore as a grant to the 14th Finance Commission, which was held for more than three years.”

According to him, 65 crore rupees have been sanctioned by the Center under the Mid Day Meal Scheme. To avoid any dispute, joint accounts have now been created in the name of village heads or sarpanches and school heads.
