Kerala Secretariat Fire: Opposition accused government of burning files related to gold smuggling in Kerala. BJP and Congress say that very important files in the case of gold smuggling have been completely burnt. The fire incident in Kerala Secretariat has taken a dramatic turn. The fire in the Protocol Department on Tuesday has been accused by the opposition Congress and BJP of conspiring to destroy important files related to the gold smuggling case.

The Kerala government has suspected the conspiracy of these two parties behind it. The Congress has demanded a probe by the NIA into the matter. BJP state president K Surendran, who arrived with his party workers soon after the fire, forcibly entered the secretariat premises and made the arrest. Surendran said after his arrest that the files that were sought by the NIA and other investigative agencies have been burned in the gold smuggling case. When we went there to find out the truth, the BJP leaders were arrested.

At the same time, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Ramesh Chennithala demanded a probe into the case from the National Investigation Agency. He also met Governor Arif Mohammad Khan over the secretariat fire. He said that there was a fire near Krishnakutty’s office in the minister and the three blocks kept there were completely destroyed. Very important documents related to the Child Trafficking case have also been destroyed in this and the most important thing is that there is no back-up of these files.

Sources in the fire department said that their personnel were informed about the incident at 4:45 pm. Immediately upon reaching there, we found smoke in the room. According to preliminary investigation, a fire broke out from the switch on the wall and spread to the floor. Some files were partially burned. Government sources said that no important file has been burnt.
