Kerala government will issue guidelines to reopen schools. Physical classes are going to resume in Kerala schools on November 1.

Kerala Education Minister V Shivankutty said a detailed guideline for the reopening of schools would be issued on October 5.

The minister informed that the decision was taken after several meetings held with various stakeholders, which concluded on Sunday.

Shivankutty said a series of meetings held with the District Education Officer (DEO) and Assistant Educational Officer (AEO) concluded today.

Kerala government will issue guidelines: Matters related to teacher training and conditions for conducting classes as per COVID norms were discussed.

The minister further said that the state education department has started extensive preparations for the resumption of physical classes and will issue detailed guidelines on Tuesday.

He said that some schools lack basic facilities, so the government is planning to accommodate those students in nearby schools so that they can follow all the COVID-19 guidelines.

The Kerala government had earlier announced that from November 1, schools would be opened for classes 1 to 7 and 10 and 12, with fully immunized staff.

Karnataka government will provide a mass pinda daan of 1200 unclaimed dead bodies, died due to covid-19.

The Karnataka government is going to organize a ‘Pinda Pradana’ ceremony for unclaimed bodies of 1,200 Covid-19 victims at Gosai Ghat on the banks of river Kaveri near Sriranganapattan in Mandya district on Monday.

‘Pinda’ are balls of cooked rice, made by mixing ghee and black sesame seeds. ‘Pindas’ are offered to ancestors during Hindu funeral rites and ancestor worship.

According to the traditions in the Garuda Purana (Hindu religious text), offering ‘Pinda’ to the departed soul helps to reunite the soul with its ancestors.

Revenue Minister R. Ashok Mandya, Deputy Commissioner of the district S. Ashwathy, Manjunath Prasad, Under Secretary to the government, and Narayan Gowda, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs.

Earlier, Minister Ashok took part in the ‘Bone Immersion’ program. The bone immersion of these 1200 unclaimed dead bodies was done on June 2 in Bengaluru and adjoining areas.
