Kathua Terror Encounter
Kathua Terror Encounter: Terror returns to Dhanu Parol in Bilawar as terrorists knock on the same Hindu family’s door two nights in a row. Locals fear growing terrorist hideouts; family demands security. Get full updates on the Kathua encounter.
After entering a family in Dhanu Parol of Bilawar on Wednesday night and taking away food, mobile, bags, and raw rations at gunpoint, the terrorists knocked again on the same house on Thursday, the very next day. But the family members neither opened the door nor made any sound from inside. The family members recognized them by looking at them secretly from inside. The terrorists also kept knocking on the door for about 15 minutes, but did not make any sound.
This incident has raised apprehensions that terrorists are making safe hideouts around Dhanu Parol. Also, the place where the terrorists are now is safe for them. On the other hand, that frightened family has asked for security around the house. The family where the terrorists knocked again is the only Hindu family there. A security agency official said that the victim family has asked for security.
The actions of the terrorists clearly show that there is a terrorist base nearby, where they had snatched ten kilograms of raw ration, clothes, track suits, jackets, mobile phones, and other items from a Hindu family on the first day. Therefore, the local people say that the security forces should also investigate and conduct search operations from this angle. However, the terrorists who fled from Sufan have now reached a place where they have a transit camp, and they have many hideouts to escape from the security forces.
Ishu Nala and Badnota, which are part of the Malhar region, are located at some distance from Dhanu Parol. Both areas have become very sensitive from the point of view of terrorist activities over the last year. In Badnota, last July, the terrorists had ambushed a hill and fired continuously on the military vehicle going down the road, killing five soldiers. Till now, the wanted terrorists in that incident have not been caught.
Similarly, there is Ishu Nala, where last month, the bodies of three wedding guests, who were members of the same family, were found in suspicious circumstances. BJP workers had expressed their anger over the incident by protesting at various places on the roads, highways, and in the city. They had also burnt the effigy of Pakistan, blaming it for the incident.
At that time, the medical report had claimed that all three had died due to falling, while apart from BJP supporters, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh had also called the death of all three a terrorist incident on his Twitter account, after which BJP had protested against the police at various places in Kathua district. The family had demanded a speedy investigation into the suspicious death four days ago. On the other hand, terrorists were seen in Panchtirthi before Dhanu Parol, and before that in Rui, Sufan, and Sanyal. It is reported that two of them have been killed, while three have fled from there and reached Dhanu Parol.
Meanwhile, three terrorists were also seen on the banks of the Ravi River on the Punjab side in the Kathua district, but nothing was found even there when a search operation was conducted. Since March 23, terrorists have been seen by people, but they are not been caught by the security forces. This has created panic among the people of the entire district. People of the Ladi Panchayat of Juthana have already demanded a police station in the area in writing from the SSP at his Kathua office. On the other hand, the Hindu family in Dhanu Parol, whose house was once again attacked by terrorists, has demanded security around the house.
The District Education Department had kept some government schools closed for three days as a precautionary measure due to the terrorists who fled from there after the Sufain encounter. The schools were reopened on Friday. District Chief Education Officer Mangat Ram Sharma said that the schools which were closed for three days included Primary School Rainhan, Primary School Boral, Upper Primary School Nada, Primary School Garah Salaid, and Upper Primary School Darley.
