Karnataka Congress Gave A Warning To Its MLA Khan
Karnataka Congress gave a warning on the controversial speech of Congress MLA Khan, said – stay in Lakshman Rekha: Karnataka.
The Congress party in Karnataka has fiercely reprimanded one of its MLAs from Karnataka for his statement.
The party has warned Karnataka Congress MLA Jamir Ahmed Khan, saying that your recent statement is completely baseless and substandard.
It is expected that veteran Congress leaders do not cross the Lakshman Rekha by being bound by the party’s discipline and ideology.
Making such baseless statements is of no use except to create controversy. The ideology of the Indian National Congress believes in an inclusive society that rises above caste and religion.
Therefore you are warned that in the future whenever you speak publicly, do not influence the ideology of the party.
Controversy over Khan’s statement.
Karnataka Congress MLA Jamir Ahmed Khan had said that Karnataka has more Muslims than Vokkaligas. There has been controversy regarding this matter.
Vokkaliga leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have hit out at Khan, terming him as an attempt to project the politically influential community as small.
Congress leaders also objected to this remark and tried to compensate for the loss.
There are reports that prominent Vokkaliga saint Nirmalanandanath Swamiji has conveyed his unhappiness to the Congress leaders in this regard.
What Khan said.
Khan, who is considered close to Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah, had recently said that no one can become chief minister with the support of just one community.
He reacted to state Congress president DK Shivakumar’s attempt to organize the Vokkaliga community.
Khan had said, “No one can become chief minister with the support of one community, everyone has a desire (to become a chief minister), and there is nothing wrong in that.”
(But) it is possible to (become a chief minister) only by taking all the communities along. I also aspire to become chief minister, my community percentage is more than Vokkaliga.
Is it possible for me to become chief minister simply by getting the support of my community? Is that not possible?
BJP said the politics of appeasement is gone.
BJP general secretary CT Ravi said there was a time when there was a feeling that elections could be won only with the help of Muslim votes, from which the politics of appeasement had come.
That time has gone long back, Jamir Bhai (Khan), he said. The talk of intimidation and blackmail in the name of the vote bank passed long ago.
Jamir Bhai, remember that today one can do politics only by saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and working for the people.
Responding to this criticism, Khan said that he has cordial relations with Swamiji and the Vokkaliga community and one can inquire about it from the Adichunchanagiri Math.
Two groups in the party.
Shivakumar, who hails from the Vokkaliga community, had recently called upon the community to support him in his endeavor to become the chief minister.
The Vokkaliga community has a sizeable number in the old Mysuru or southern Karnataka region.
Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah have been engulfed in a battle for supremacy for several months and both are projecting themselves as chief ministerial contenders if the Congress comes to power.
Although Siddaramaiah is constantly saying that only the newly elected MLAs and high command will decide who will be the next chief minister.
But his supporters, including Khan, are openly giving statements in favor of their leader, ignoring warnings of disciplinary action. This has created a kind of division in the party.
