Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa resigned, said – no pressure from high command.

Four-time Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has resigned amid speculations of a change of leadership in Karnataka. He has submitted his resignation to Governor Thawar Chandra Gehlot.

Meanwhile, BS Yediyurappa will continue to be the caretaker CM. For the past several weeks, there were speculations about Yeddyurappa’s exit and handing over the chief minister’s command to someone else.

Yediyurappa announced his resignation at a program to mark the completion of two years of his government.

After submitting his resignation to the Governor, he said that there is no pressure on him from the high command.

Yediyurappa said, ‘Nobody pressured me to resign. I took this decision myself so that after the completion of 2 years of the government, someone else can take over the post of Chief Minister.

I will work to bring BJP back to power in the next election.

He said that I am grateful to PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda for giving me a chance to serve Karnataka for two years.

Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has accepted the resignation of CM BS Yediyurappa and asked him to continue as caretaker CM till the next CM is sworn in.

According to sources, BJP will soon send observers to Karnataka. The central party leadership and the state party leadership will discuss the next face for the post of CM.

Meanwhile, the names of many leaders are in discussion for the post of Chief Minister. The Panchmasali Lingayat community has been demanding the chief minister’s post for several months.

BJP leaders from the community, including Basanagouda Ramanagouda Patil Yatnal, Arvind Bellad, and Murugesh Nirani, are considered to be the frontrunners in the race.

Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai is also being named.

BM Yediyurappa comes from the Lingayat community, the largest community in Karnataka comprising about 17 percent of the population.

This community can determine the outcome of 35 to 40 percent assembly seats.

On Sunday, seers from various Lingayat monasteries held a conference at the Palace Ground in Bengaluru and extended their support to Yeddyurappa.

Dingleswara Swamy of Balhosur Math said Yeddyurappa should not be replaced. “Solution should be found under Yediyurappa ji’s leadership.

He should not be changed. If he is removed, Karnataka will face more problems.
