Kanpur Violence: Seven More Miscreants Were Arrested

Kanpur Violence: After the court appearance, Hayat and his associates were sent to jail, and seven more miscreants were arrested.

On Sunday, police presented the accused mastermind Hayat Zafar Hashmi and three accomplices in the ruckus in Dada Mian Hata from Parade Nai Road in the city.

The court has sent Hayat and his associates to jail. At the same time, the police have arrested seven more accused in the ruckus. So far 29 miscreants have been arrested.

Police forces are deployed in sensitive areas and only a few shops are open in the market but people are not coming out of their homes.

The parade had turned ruckus after Friday prayers on the new road. People were injured in stone-pelting and vandalism.

After pacifying the ruckus, the police had registered three cases involving 36 names and thousands of unknowns.

The police had arrested the national president of the Jauhar Fans Association, Hayat Zafar Hashmi, and three of his associates Javed Ahmed Mohammad Rahil and Mohammad Sufiyan.

All are accused of being the mastermind of the riot, from Lucknow. Apart from this, 18 other miscreants have also been arrested.

All the accused were produced in the special court on Sunday at around 2:30 pm amid heavy security.

The court has ordered to send all the accused including Hayat to jail for 14 days in judicial custody.

A heavy police force was deployed on the court premises before Hayat and his accomplices were produced before the court.

Apart from the police, PAC personnel were also present. Police Commissioner Vijay Singh Meena led during the court appearance of the accused.

Kanpur Violence: Seven more miscreants were arrested. Joint Commissioner of Police Anand Prakash Tiwari said that 22 people were arrested till Saturday.

Seven more miscreants have been arrested till Sunday afternoon. They have been identified on the basis of CCTV footage. So far 29 miscreants have been arrested.

He told that there are indications of the Popular Front of India’s involvement in the episode. The connection of Hayat with PFI is being investigated, soon other miscreants will be arrested.
