Jammu & Kashmir: No Delay In Hearing On 4G Service

Jammu and Kashmir: Supreme Court told the Center that there will be no delay in hearing on 4G service. The Supreme Court asked the Central Government whether 4G services of the Internet could be started in some areas of Kashmir.

In Kashmir, limited internet service is being provided for the last one year. The government says that it has been done due to security. During the hearing on Friday, the Supreme Court said that now there should be no delay in hearing this case.

At the same time, a public interest petition has said that this is affecting the work of the common people and especially the hospital and the education of children. The next hearing, in this case, will now be held on Tuesday.

Government’s side in court
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said in the Supreme Court that former Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu had given statements regarding the restoration of the Internet, but now he is not.

Please tell that former Union Minister Manoj Sinha has been appointed the new Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Tushar Mehta said that after this change, the opinion of the new Lieutenant Governor will also be very important. However, the court said that in the next hearing, tell whether 4G services can be started in some areas of Kashmir.

What happened so far?
Last month, the Supreme Court had asked the Center and the Jammu and Kashmir administration to file a counter affidavit of complete information regarding the formation of a special committee to review 4G mobile services in a week.

The Center, Jammu, and Kashmir administration informed the Supreme Court that a special committee has been constituted to review the internet ban under the court’s orders and the committee has also taken decisions related to 4G.

Last month, the central government said in the court that it would verify the alleged statements of the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (LG) in the media, which said that 4G should be restored in the state
