Apart from this, BJP president JP Nadda and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat also attended this event. Mohan Bhagwat celebrated the festival of Pongal in Chennai and worshiped the cow.

Jalli / Salli of Jallikattu, which is held for three days, means ‘coin’ and Kattu means ‘tied’. There is a cloth tied in the bull’s horn which the player has to remove to get the prize money.

The oldest bull in the area is used in it. No one catches these bulls, which are considered icons of the village. In the year 2018, there was a lot of uproar over the deaths of this competition.

Even the Supreme Court had banned the game, after which the state government had asked to bring an ordinance from the Center and make a law on it. This traditional game is organized during the Pongal on the occasion of harvesting of crops.

Coins or notes stuck in the horns of bulls used in this game are instigated and released into the crowd, so that people can be caught by the horns and control them.

In order to provoke the bulls, they go from drinking liquor to putting chilies in their eyes and twisting their tails, so that they can run fast. religious affiliation Jallikattu is traditionally held on the Makar Sankranti or Pongal festival in Tamil Nadu.

The bull is believed to be the vehicle of Lord Shiva, called Nandi. It is believed that Lord Shiva is pleased with the person who overcomes the bull in this game.

Comparison of Spain’s bullfighting wrong Those who oppose this tradition relate it to bullfighting in Spain, but this is incorrect. Like bullfighting in Spain, bulls are not killed here.

No weapon is used to control it. In Spain, the audience is delighted to see the blood flowing from the bull’s body, but it is not done here.
