Djokovic, who had won 6-3 in the first set at the Italian Open, was waiting for the match to be stopped. During the second set, the situation had worsened due to rains, and the defending champion Djokovic lost his temper.

Djokovic finally defeated American player Fitz 6-3, 7-6 in this match. Earlier, Matteo Berrettini beat Nicoloz Basilashvili 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, while Italian-only Lorenzo Sonego defeated Gayle Monfils 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.

Djokovic was previously disqualified at the US Open played in September last year for hitting the line woman.

He had hit the ball angrily after trailing in the match which hit the line woman’s neck. After this, the match referee dismissed him from the tournament.

Serena lost 1000th WTA match:

American star Serena Williams lost the 1000th WTA match of her career.

In the second round, she was beaten by Nadia Podroskova of Argentina 7-6, 7-5. Serena returned to court after three months. This is his 149th out of 1000 WTA matches.

Neeraj, a strong contender for medals in Tokyo, wants to play the tournament before the Olympics.

Olympic spear-throwing athlete Neeraj Chopra on Wednesday said that along with practice he is desperate to play in some competitions before the Tokyo Olympics as his last two years were ruined due to injury and the Covid-19 epidemic.

The 23-year-old Neeraj, who is considered a strong contender for medals in Tokyo, said he is working closely with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) to play in some competitions before the Olympics.
