Israel Gaza Ceasefire: Announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza-based terrorists, US President Joe Biden welcomed.

US President Joe Biden on Sunday (local time) welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Gaza-based militants after three days of hostilities.

He said that over the past 72 hours, the United States has worked with officials from Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, Qatar, and Jordan throughout the region to encourage a quick resolution of the conflict.

Biden thanked these people.

In a statement issued by the White House, Biden said, “I thank Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the senior Egyptian officials who played a central role in this diplomacy.”

At the same time, I also thank the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his team for helping to end these hostilities.

The US President’s remarks came when airstrikes were carried out in the Gaza Strip as part of Israel’s Operation Breaking Dawn against Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Biden said his support for Israel’s security is long-standing and unwavering, including the right to defend oneself against attacks.

Israel defends its people.

“In these recent days, Israel has defended its people from indiscriminate rocket attacks launched by the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

The United States is proud of our support for Israel’s Iron Dome,” he said. Intercepted hundreds of rockets and saved countless lives.

“My administration supports a timely and thorough investigation of all these reports and we also call on all sides to fully implement the ceasefire and ensure fuel and humanitarian supplies to Gaza,” he said.

Recalling his visit to Israel and the West Bank, he said, ‘Both Israelis and Palestinians deserve to live safely and enjoy equal measures of freedom, prosperity, and democracy.’

Meanwhile, the United Nations Security Council will meet in an emergency closed room on Monday to discuss the latest escalation between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the Gaza Strip.
