Iran’s New President Reiss Unwilling To Meet Biden

Iran’s new President Reiss unwilling to meet Biden, accused of violating the nuclear deal.

Even though power is going to change in Iran, there is no sign of any change in this country’s attitude towards America.

The same thing is evident from the first press conference of the newly elected President of this West Asian country, Ibrahim Raisi.

He not only accused the US of violating the nuclear deal but also said that he is not willing to meet US President Joe Biden.

Iran’s new President: America should complete the nuclear deal.

Riesi also said that the European Union (EU) had failed to meet its commitments. The US and the EU must fulfill their commitments under the nuclear deal.

America has imposed sanctions.

In last Friday’s presidential election, the hardliner Raisi was elected with a massive vote. He is close to the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Chief Justice.

The US has banned him for human rights violations. He will replace incumbent President Hassan Rouhani in August.

Demand for the lifting of sanctions.

“Our foreign policy is not limited to the nuclear deal alone,” Raisi, 60, told reporters on Monday for the first time since winning the election.

We will talk with the world.’ “I urge the United States to return to its commitments to the deal and lift all sanctions on Iran,” he said.

Told himself a defender of human rights.

Raisi has described himself as a defender of human rights. He gave this answer to a question in which he was asked about his role in the hanging of about five thousand people in the year 1988.

Raisi was at that time part of the committee which had given capital punishment to political prisoners.

This is why tension.

In 2015, Iran signed a nuclear deal with six superpowers, including the US.

In 2018, then US President Donald Trump withdrew his country from this agreement and imposed several strict sanctions on Tehran.

After this, the tension between the two countries increased. Efforts are being made since last April to revive this agreement
