IPL Will Get Domestic Title Sponsor Today: BCCI
IPL will get Domestic title sponsor today, these companies are in the race. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had canceled an agreement with Chinese mobile company Vivo as the main sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for 2020 to avoid disputes. More than one and a half dozen Indian soldiers were martyred in a violent clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in eastern Ladakh.
After this, people across the country started boycotting Chinese goods. Due to this, BCCI also had to cancel a deal of about 400 crores with Vivo. However, BCCI will get a new IPL title sponsor today i.e. on 18 August. Actually, BCCI is going to announce the title sponsor of IPL 2020 today, which will be for this season only. Under the auction process, an Indian company will get title sponsorship of IPL for 4 months.
On 18 August, BCCI may also announce the schedule for the 13th season of IPL apart from the main sponsor, as a BCCI official said that we will release the full schedule of the league before leaving for the UAE. On August 19, most teams are scheduled to leave for the UAE. In such a situation, the board can also announce the schedule in the next few hours.
These companies are in the race for IPL title sponsor
When the Indian Cricket Board canceled the deal with Jeevo as the main sponsor for this year, many Indian companies had shown interest in becoming title sponsors of IPL. These indigenous companies include Tata & Sons, Dream XI, Byju, Unacademy, and Patanjali, who are in the race for Indian Premier League title sponsorship.
However, under the bid, the BCCI will decide which company should be given the rights of the main sponsor of this year’s IPL. However, it is believed that Baiju can compete in this, as it is the man sponsor of the Indian online education company Indian team. The company is also at a disadvantage due to a lack of matches.
