India’s new generation indigenous drones will monitor the borders, No longer we need America or Israel drones, On the occasion of Army Day, two news came together and the subject of both is also the same.
While the Indian Army made a big deal, deciding to protect the border with drones prepared by the youth of IIT. At the same time, on Friday, in the program held in Delhi, displaying swarm drones (herd drone) told the world that India is also equipped with new technology in the battlefield.
This drone can not only gather information by penetrating the enemy’s range up to 50 km but can also penetrate targets with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Like, the Indian Army did in Balakot. Now not only America, Russia, or Israel, but our new generation of indigenous drones will monitor our borders. Indian Army has recently signed a Rs 130 crore deal with IdeaForge Technology, a company of three youth from IIT Mumbai. The army will buy drones made by them.
India’s New Generation Indigenous Drones: Ankit Mehta, the 37-year-old CEO of this company, says that he started making drones in 2005-06 before taking an engineering degree from IIT Mumbai. Because passion was to do something new.
Therefore, he used to keep making new things while studying. IIT Mumbai also provided financial assistance for such new experiments, which helped in doing something new. Then started the company in the year 2007.
He was accompanied by his two junior colleagues Rahul Singh and Ashish Bhatt from IIT Mumbai. Ankit’s childhood partner Vipul Joshi, who returned from Switzerland with an MBA degree, also joined him in this team. When the terrorist attack on Mumbai happened in 2008, Ankit Mehta’s team thought that we should do something for the safety of the people and started making drones for the security forces.
Ankit says that the drone shown in the 2009 film Three Idiots was also made by his team. He has also received last year’s Young Alumni Achievers Award from IIT Mumbai. IdeaForge had been in a position to sell its products since 2010. Since then, many state police forces and other security forces have purchased drones from them.
They are also being used successfully. Today IdeaForge has 80 to 90 percent market share of the country in the drone market. Seeing his success, several venture capital companies also joined him.
Recently, after the Chinese incursion into the Galwan Valley, the Indian Army felt the need to increase technical surveillance on its borders, and the Army was allowed to make emergency purchases, it entered into a deal to buy a drone worth Rs 130 crore with IdeaForge.
These unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) made by IdeaForge are known as Fixed-Wing VTOL (Vertkill Take-Off and Landing) craft. That is, they can fly and run down without running. They can monitor the border while staying at high altitudes both day and night. In particular, these drones will only be helpful in monitoring the borders.
He believes that India can get a lot of new things if the new generation of new ideas gets timely financial help. Air Marshal Harish Masand, retired, Vir Chakra said that we can make anti-satellite missiles, so why not new generation indigenous drones? We should work more on such technology.
The less we depend on other countries in security matters, the less we will remain. Because whatever country will give us weapons or technology, it will not give advanced technology completely. Retired Air Force airman Jayant Apte said that it is a tactical weapon. Drone or AI technology has become the need of every sector.
India’s New Generation Indigenous Drones: The drone displayed on Army Day could prove to be extremely useful for small battlefields. This will help in monitoring enemy positions and geographical conditions and setting targets.
It flies in flocks so can create an illusion on the enemy’s radar. With this technique, every regiment will have its own drone and will be able to keep an eye on the enemies in its area. In such a situation, only small operations will be able to operate by the local army.
