The Galwan Valley was the site of the brutal conflict between the two militaries on Monday evening in which a Colonel and 19 other Indian Armed force jawans were martyred.

It was the biggest showdown along the LAC between the two powers after their 1967 conflicts in Nathu La in 1967 when India lost around 80 troopers and China lost more than 300 PLA staff.

In a telephonic discussion with his Chinese partner Wang Yi, external affairs minister S Jaishankar too discussed the requirement for execution of the choices taken at the June 6 gathering.

Answering to a different inquiry, the MEA representative said the external affairs minister will take an interest in the Russia-India-China (RIC) foreign ministry meeting on June 23.
