India-Nepal talks will resolve all disputes, Raw chief Goyal’s meeting with Oli and former Prime Ministers.

Samant Kumar Goyal, the head of India’s foreign affairs intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), reached Kathmandu on Wednesday to meet Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

During this time, a pledge was made to not allow any harm to the old relations between the two countries. It was said that both countries will resolve the dispute through dialogue.

Goyal, who arrived in Kathmandu with a nine-member delegation on Wednesday, met Prime Minister Oli and former Prime Minister Pushp Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Both former Prime Ministers have been in a tussle with Oli for almost eight months. Oli also holds the post of Chairman of the ruling Communist Party along with the Prime Minister.

The discord had calmed to a great extent in August, but the no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister in Karnali province last week rekindled the controversy.

The Chief Minister here is close to Mahendra Bahadur Shahi Prachanda, while a no-confidence motion against him has brought a section of pro-Oli MLAs. This is the reason for the latest raging controversy.

According to the ruling party sources, Oli wants to improve his relations with Prachanda through India’s mediation. That is why Goyal has come to Kathmandu with a team of officials.

A section of the Nepali media is also questioning Prime Minister Oli’s meeting with the head of the Indian intelligence agency.

On this, the leader of opposition Nepali Congress Dhanraj Gurung has said that Nepal is an independent and sovereign nation, Goyal’s arrival in Nepal in this way is an injury to the sovereignty of the country.
