India in the UNSC: West Asia peace process cannot be postponed.

India said in the United Nations Security Council- West Asia peace process cannot be postponed for long.

India on Thursday told the UN Security Council that the Middle East peace process cannot be postponed for long.

Along with this, India also underlined the need to resume direct talks between Israel and Palestine.

Addressing the UNSC meeting on West Asia (including the Palestine issue), Secretary (West) in the MEA Vikas Swarup urged all stakeholders to de-escalate tensions and avoid provocation.

The peace process cannot be postponed for a long time, he said. The standoff only leads to a loss of trust between the parties and encourages the possibility of violence.

Swarup stressed the need for immediate resumption of the Middle East peace process and direct talks between Israel and Palestine.

Vikas Swarup said India supports all diplomatic efforts, including those of the Quartet, that aim to restore this dialogue and strengthen the international community’s collective commitment to the peace process.

Vikas Swarup, while reiterating India’s commitment to the establishment of an independent and democratic Palestine There is no substitute for a two-state solution for meaningful and lasting peace.

India called for non-discriminatory, political, and unconditional humanitarian assistance to the people of Syria, saying that decades of violence and terror in the war-torn country have made the condition of millions worse.

Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting on Syria (Humanitarian Affairs), Prakash Gupta, Joint Secretary (United Nations Political) in the Ministry of External Affairs, said that concrete steps should be taken to remove barriers to humanitarian aid operations across the border in Syria.

North Korea’s new envoy to America expects a positive response to the talks proposal

The United States’ new top envoy to North Korea said in Seoul on Monday that he looked forward to a “positive response” to talks with North Korea.
