India-China Troop Withdrawal: Patrolling Begins at LAC After Four-Year Standoff

India-China Troop Withdrawal: The withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops from Depsang and Demchok is nearly complete. Discover when patrolling will resume and learn about the diplomatic agreement aimed at easing tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

The India-China army retreated from two places on LAC, read when the soldiers will go out on patrol. The process of withdrawal of troops in the Depsang and Demchok areas of the East Ladakh sector is almost complete. Let us tell you that the process of withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops in Depsang and Demchok is expected to be completed on Tuesday. Army sources have said that both armies will now start patrolling the areas where they could not reach after the standoff started in April 2020.

India-China Troop Withdrawal: India reached an agreement with China

India announced on October 21, 2024, that an agreement has been reached with China to end the military standoff that has been going on for more than four years regarding patrolling on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in East Ladakh.

After this, the statement of Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also came out, he said, it would take time to build trust between the two countries, but the withdrawal of troops is important. He said military withdrawal at two important points is the first step, and reducing tension is the next step.

Ground commanders’ meetings will be held daily

India and China will complete the process of military withdrawal across the Line of Actual Control by October 29 to improve diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Sources said, “Regular ground commanders’ meetings will continue to take place. The strength of the troops involved in the patrol has been identified and we inform each other when we are going to patrol to avoid any miscommunication. All temporary infrastructure like sheds tents, and soldiers will be removed. Both sides will monitor the area. The patrolling points in Depsang and Demchok will be the points where we were traditionally patrolling before April 2020.”
