India bluntly criticizes China on terrorism in UNSC, saying the double standard is fatal.
China always favors Pakistan-China Friendship on terrorism in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and thwarts every attempt by India to bring Pakistani terrorists to the global list.
On this issue, India has lashed out fiercely without taking the name of China.
At the UNSC briefing, India’s Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj said coercive or unilateral actions on terrorism that seek to change the status quo are an insult to general security.
He called upon all the countries to come together on the issue of terrorism and asked the countries not to indulge in double standards while campaigning.
This reaction from India comes at a time when China has blocked India’s proposal to list Pakistan terrorist Abdul Rehman Makki under the Security Council Sanctions Committee.
India bluntly criticizes China on terrorism: Ruchira Kamboj said, “Shared security is possible only when countries respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
She added that common security is also possible only when countries respect the agreements signed with others, whether bilateral or multilateral.
Also, do not take unilateral measures to cancel the arrangements of which they were also a part.
India’s Ambassador to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj said that as our Prime Minister said at the UN General Assembly in 2020, “the need of the hour is to improve the character of the United Nations in the responses, in the processes.
How can we aspire to common security, when the common good of the South is denied representation in its decision-making, he said.
India’s Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj further said that the United Nations was established in 1945 with the noble objective to save the coming generations from the scourge of war.
As a universal and representative international organization, the United Nations has been credited with maintaining peace over the past 77 years.
Today’s meeting is an opportune moment to engage in serious discussions about India’s call for reformed multilateralism, with the UN Security Council reform at its core.
