India And China Have Tightened Their Stand On LAC

India and China have tightened their stand on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.

Both India and China are engaged in strengthening their position on the LAC, nothing is being done in both countries.

Military activities are increasing on both sides of the border, with infrastructure development and monitoring and maneuvers by their forces in the sensitive area amid the ongoing border standoff.

Tensions reached a standstill after four weeks of military talks to keep peace in Ladakh, Chinese watchers said on Sunday.

It was said that military talks are unlikely to succeed and only high intervention can show the way to resolve the 18-month-old border crisis.

A second official said the Indian Army’s activities in the sector are in response to the actions of the PLA and retaliatory measures have been taken to be prepared for any contingency.

A second official said the Indian Army’s activities in the sector are in response to the actions of the PLA and retaliatory measures have been taken to be prepared for any contingency.

Despite the forces withdrawing twice this year at friction points along the LAC, the two armies still have 50,000 to 60,000 troops and advanced weapons deployed in Ladakh.

In a report released last week, the US Defense Department said that despite participating in talks to resolve the crisis.

Beijing is taking incremental and strategic action to assert its claims on the LAC.

Former Northern Army Commander Lt Gen DS Hooda (Retd) said that it is absolutely clear that the position on both sides has hardened.

The statements by India and China after the 13th round of military-level talks are a clear indication that the is difficult to find common land.

He said any success in the standoff would now be decided at the political and diplomatic level only. However, it is uncertain whether any country has the willingness to take such an initiative at this stage.

The PLA did not agree with the suggestions made by the Indian Army in the 13th round of talks on 10 October.

The Indian military said it made constructive suggestions to resolve the remaining areas but the Chinese side did not agree and could not provide any suggestions.

While China in an unusually aggressive statement accused India of unreasonable and unrealistic demands.

The PLA conducted tank exercises across the LAC after the standoff of the October 10 talks and the Indian Army began an air exercise in eastern Ladakh last week to showcase its rapid response capabilities.

Despite talks between diplomats and military officials between China and India, there has been a standoff on the LAC for 18 months.

During this, China is also strengthening its position on the LAC. It does not appear that he is interested in ending the dispute.

Chinese soldiers had infiltrated into Indian territory in May 2020 amid the difficult situation arising out of coronavirus infection in India.
