EU Special Envoy Tomas Nicholson convened a meeting of special representatives and envoys of EU member states in Brussels on Saturday.

Amid the deteriorating human rights situation in Afghanistan due to the Taliban regime. In this meeting, the issue of Taliban rule in Afghanistan was discussed.

Also, while giving information through Twitter, the Special Envoy of the European Union expressed concern about the situation in Afghanistan.

He wrote on Twitter that he is concerned about the deteriorating human rights situation, particularly for women, girls, and ethnic groups.

The lack of political inclusion, and the inability to adopt and implement policies consistent with Taliban commitments.

Indeed, in addition to representatives of countries, experts from human rights and economics attended this meeting.

He further wrote on his Twitter handle that he has condemned the harsh policies of the Taliban on women.

He explained to the meeting that Afghanistan has seen a deteriorating human rights situation for women and girls.

An absence of policy and public engagement, and difficulty in implementing policies that are consistent with international universal principles.

The meeting was held in Brussels and Khama Press reported that representatives of EU member states were reminded of their continued support and commitment to the Afghan people.

The meeting comes at a time when Human Rights has accused the Taliban of war crimes in Panjshir.

A separate report called on the international community to impose travel restrictions on senior Taliban officials.

It also said that expressing deep concern alone is not effective and that the Taliban should be pressured to behave in a practical and objective manner.

The Taliban’s atrocities against Afghan women have been on the rise since the organization seized power in Afghanistan in August last year. In which young girls and women of human rights were banned.

Most of the female workers in government institutions have been denied work and many of them have been fired since the Taliban took control of the country in August last year.

Meanwhile, the Taliban has suspended secondary education for girls and tightened the wearing of the hijab.
