Ingredients for Making Dates

  1. Laddu Dates- 500 grams (without seeds)
  2. Cashews- 100 grams (finely chopped)
  3. Almonds- 100 grams (finely chopped)
  4. Pistachios- 50 grams (finely chopped)
  5. Makhana- 50 grams (roasted)
  6. Jaggery- 2 small pieces
  7. Desi ghee- 50 grams
  8. Raisins- 100 grams
  9. Cardamom powder- a pinch

Method of Making Dates Laddu

  1. First of all, wash the dates and soak them in water for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Then drain the water and grind the dates in a mixer to make a paste.
  3. Now melt the jaggery in a small pan on low flame.
  4. Keep in mind that the jaggery does not become too thick.
  5. Then heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add cashews, almonds, pistachios, and makhana and fry till light golden.
  6. After this, mix date paste, melted jaggery, roasted dry fruits, raisins, and cardamom powder in a large vessel.
  7. Now mix this mixture well so that all the ingredients mix well with each other. Now make small laddus from this mixture.
  8. Let the laddu cool in the fridge for a while.

How to Make Healthy Date and Jaggery Laddus: Special Tips

  1. If you want, you can also add other dry fruits of your choice like walnuts, raisins, etc. to the laddu.
  2. If you want to use sugar instead of jaggery, then you can make syrup by dissolving sugar in water and then mixing it in the date paste.
  3. The laddu can be kept in an airtight container for 15-20 days.
