Home Minister says that Assam is known for development, not violence. Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati on Thursday morning in view of Assembly elections in Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, his cabinet colleague Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, State BJP President Ranjit Kumar Das welcomed the Union Home Minister at LGBI Airport, Borjhar in Guwahati.

Union HM Amit Shah said in Nagaon, Assam – We have to make Assam flood-free, infiltration-free and violence-free. We have to make Assam and the entire Northeast the country’s largest GDP contributor.

The Home Minister said, ‘Assam, which was known for agitation, weapons, and violence, is now known for development, industrial investment, education, and tourism.

But this journey is incomplete. This is the first stage of a new era of development started by CM and Himanta Biswa Sarma under the leadership of PM Modi.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the ‘Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav’ at Maha Mrityunjaya Temple in Nagaon.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of State Himanta Biswa Sarma were also present.

As per his schedule, Shah will attend the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav at Maha Mrityunjaya Temple at Puranigudam in central Assam’s Nagaon district at around 10.30 am and he will perform a ‘yajna’ at Lord Shiva’s temple.

Amit Shah will also visit the Batdrava Math in Nagaon district and he will also lay the foundation stone for the beautification project of Batdrava Than, the birthplace of social reformer and neo-Vaishnava sage Shrimant Shankardutt.

The project, costing Rs 188 crore, will transform the development of Batdarwa Than as a center of art, culture, and spirituality into a place of tourist attraction.

The Union Home Minister will also address a public meeting in the Batdrava project around 11:30 AM. Later, he will address a huge public meeting at Dungeon, Nurak Akalam Maidan in Karbi Anglong district at around 2 pm.

The Union Home Minister will also meet the members of the Assam State BJP Core Committee and will take stock of the party’s election preparations before the Assembly elections in the state.

Earlier, the Union Home Minister visited the electoral state on 25 January and addressed a public rally ‘Vijay Sankalp Samaroh’ in the Nalbari district.

Explain that the BJP has targeted ‘Mission 100 Plus’ for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. Elections are scheduled in the state in April-May this year.
