Radha Raman Das, Vice President of ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Kolkata, claimed that an ISKCON temple in Dhaka, Bangladesh was set on fire. The idol of Lord Krishna was also burnt due to the fire. He said that Lakshmi Narayana and all the items inside the temple in Namhatta temple were completely burnt to ashes.

He said this temple is located in Dhaur village, which comes under the jurisdiction of Turag police station in Dhaka district. The tin rooftop behind the sanctuary was raised, and fuel or octane was utilized to light the fire.

The mood deteriorated following the arrest of Chinmay Das

Hindu Temples Burnt in Bangladesh: Appealed not to apply tilak

Earlier he had said that all Hindu monks and followers should not apply ’tilak’ to save lives in Bangladesh. The vice-president of ISKCON Kolkata also expressed concern over the safety of Hindu community leader Chinmay Krishna Das, who was denied bail and arrested after violent attacks.

West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar said in a post on X, “I firmly denounce the assault on the sanctuary in Dhaka, Bangladesh.”
