Hindu Temple Destroyed By A Frenzied Mob In Pakistan

Hindu temple destroyed by a frenzied mob in Pakistan: Another attack on Hindu religious place, the temple destroyed by a frenzied mob.

A Hindu temple was attacked by a mob on Wednesday in the Bhong area of Pakistan’s Rahim Yar Khan district.

Pakistani MP and Hindu community leader Ramesh Kumar Vankwani shared videos of the incident.

In one of the videos, the mob can be seen destroying the temple infrastructure. The mob ransacked the temple and vandalized the idols and the structure of the temple.

In another video, a frenzied mob is seen running with sticks and sticks on the road adjacent to the temple.

According to reports, a nearby main road was briefly blocked by the mob after attacking the temple.

Ramesh Kumar later posted a video on Twitter saying that the situation has been brought under control. He said that the initial slow response of the police has caused damage to the situation and the temple.

In recent years, there has been an increase in attacks on places of worship of religious minorities in Pakistan.

The country has been repeatedly reprimanded by the international community for not protecting the interests of its minorities.

In December last year, a mob of over a hundred people led by local Muslim clerics destroyed and set ablaze the temple in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

A video clip that went viral on social media showed a violent mob breaking the walls and ceiling of the temple.

A recent report by the Minorities Rights Commission in Pakistan paints a ‘dismal’ picture of the most iconic Hindu sites in the country.

As Dawn reports, the report submitted to the country’s Supreme Court in April presented the loss of two of the four most respected sites in Pakistan.

The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), a statutory board of the Government of Pakistan, has failed to maintain the ancient and sacred sites of the minority community, the report said.

Dawn, citing the statutory board ETPB, said that out of 365 temples, only 13 were being managed by them, out of which 65 were with the Hindu community and the rest were being abandoned.

Pakistan has been discriminating against its religious minorities, cases like violence, mass murders, extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, rapes, forced conversions to Islam, etc. come to the fore.

The 2020 report on International Religious Freedom, released by the United States earlier this year, raised voices over religious expression in Pakistan.

Especially in the form of blasphemy laws, the punishment for which is the death penalty.
