HAL Renames HJT-36 Trainer as ‘Yashas’ at Aero India 2025 – Key Upgrades & Features

HAL Renames HJT-36 Trainer as ‘Yashas’: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has renamed its indigenous trainer aircraft HJT-36 as ‘Yashas’ at Aero India 2025. Discover the latest upgrades, enhanced avionics, and India’s advancements in defense aviation.

HAL changed the name of the Indigenous trainer HJT-36 at Aero India, know how it will be identified now. The training aircraft of the government company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Hindustan Jet Trainer, HJT-36, has been renamed as ‘Yashas’. The company said on Monday that the name has been changed after several improvements in the aircraft.

Defense Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar renamed this aircraft in the presence of HAL CMD DK Sunil and senior officials at Aero India 2025. ‘Yashas’ is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics and a modern cockpit.

HAL Renames HJT-36 Trainer as ‘Yashas’: The aircraft has been upgraded

The upgrade will not only increase its training effectiveness. Weight has also been reduced with Indian technology-based LRUs (line-replaceable units) in place of imported equipment. Yashas is a stage II pilot training aircraft. It is capable of anti-terrorism operations, weapon training, aerobatics, etc. It is capable of carrying weapons up to one thousand kilograms. It has a droop nose and a stepped rear cockpit for better visibility.

Aero India begins in Bengaluru, Rajnath Singh says – peace can be achieved only by being strong

Referring to the Prayagraj Mahakumbh in Uttar Pradesh, the Defense Minister said, I think another ‘Mahakumbh’ is starting in the form of Aero India.

While the Prayagraj Mahakumbh is the ‘Kumbh of self-discovery’, the Mahakumbh of Aero India is the ‘Kumbh of research’. It demonstrates the strength of Indian soil in a world of uncertainties.

India has always been a supporter of peace

After the inauguration of Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru on Monday, Rajnath said that being a big country, India has always been a supporter of peace and stability.
