Guwahati Municipal Polls Result: NDA won 58 out of 60 seats, AAP got one seat, and Congress’s account did not even open.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has got a historic victory in the Assam Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) elections. NDA has won 58 seats out of 60 in the Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party had already won 3 seats unopposed.
Kamrup (Metro) district administration informed that out of 57 wards in Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections, BJP has won 43 wards while its ally AGP has won 5 wards.
AAP and Asom Jatiya Parishad (AJP) have won 1 ward each so far. The biggest thing is that the account of Congress could not even open in the election.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted thanking the people of Guwahati for the Guwahati Municipal polls results.
He wrote that the BJP has been given a resounding mandate in Assam to build on the agenda of development, I thank you for this.
On the other hand, senior BJP leader BL Santosh tweeted congratulations to CM Hemant Biswa Sharma and party workers for this historic victory.
Let us inform you that in the elections being held after a gap of nine years, 197 candidates were in the fray in 57 wards.
State Election Commission officials said that no untoward incident was reported during the counting of votes. Electronic voting machines were used in this election.
Let us inform you that out of 60 wards of Assam’s Guwahati Municipal Corporation, polling was held on April 22 in 57 wards, the remaining three were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unopposed.
Aam Aadmi Party is also trying its luck in Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections. Although the initial results are not in favor of AAP, the party is hopeful that they will get good seats this time.
