Government Banks Will Open 300 New Branches By December

Government banks will open 300 new branches by December, how many branches will open in which state, who will get the benefit?

Even in this era of digitization, public sector banks are making every effort to make their physical reach out to customers.

In this episode, now government banks will open 300 branches in many states of the country by December.

Sources related to the matter say that this bank branch will be opened in towns and villages with a population of more than 3,000, where banking services have not yet expanded.

The target is to complete this work by December 2022. The maximum number of branches will open in Rajasthan, where 95 branches are proposed.

After this, Madhya Pradesh comes with 54 branches, while 38 branches of public sector banks will open in Gujarat and 33 in Maharashtra while 32 in Jharkhand, and 31 in Uttar Pradesh.

In the meeting held last month with the Finance Services Secretary, it was agreed to open these branches.

It said that in such rural areas where there is no access to banking facilities at present, the branch will be opened by December 2022.

After the opening of new branches, banking facilities will also reach the people of those areas, where banking services have been reached so far.

Which bank will open how many branches?

The public sector Bank of Baroda has said to open the maximum number of 76 branches, followed by SBI. SBI will also open a total of 60 branches in rural areas.

It was said in the meeting that new bank branches will be opened in remote areas also to extend financial inclusion as one of the priorities of the government.

so that remote villages can get the benefit of banking facilities.

Jan Dhan accounts increased reach.

The government launched the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana on August 28, 2014, under which accounts of about 46 crore people belonging to the backward sections of the society were opened.

There is a balance of about Rs 1.74 lakh crore in these accounts. This is the biggest step of the Modi government in the field of financial inclusion.

With this scheme, 67 percent of Jan Dhan accounts were opened in rural and semi-urban areas. Not only this, 56 percent of the accounts are in the name of women only.
