Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has expressed hope that good days will return again for the aviation sector badly affected by the Corona epidemic.

In such a situation, it will be necessary for companies to add new aircraft to their fleet. He said that in 2013-14, all the companies had a total of 400 aircraft which increased to 710 last year.

A top Airbus official said on Thursday that the European aircraft maker believes that India will need around 2,200 aircraft in the next two decades.

Scindia said that there are currently more than 9,000 pilots in India and 15 percent of them are women. This figure is much higher than the global norm of five percent.

He said that the number of domestic passengers was 39 per day, which fell to about 11 lakh during the third wave of Corona.

However, now the number of passengers has once again increased to more than 38 lakhs, which is close to the number of 41 lakh passengers of Corona-East.
