Former Indonesian President Sukarno’s Daughter Will Leave Islam

Former Indonesian President Sukarno’s daughter will leave Islam and accept Hinduism, the traditional ceremony will be organized.

Sukmawati Sukarnoputri, the younger daughter of former Indonesian President Sukarno, will convert to Hinduism on October 26. She currently believes in Islam.

A traditional ceremony to convert to Hinduism will be held at the Sukarno Center Heritage Area in Bali’s Bale Agung Singaraja Buleleng Regency on Tuesday, CNN Indonesia reported on Saturday.

Sukmawati is the third daughter of Sukarnoputri Sukarno and the younger sister of former President Megawati Sukarnoputri. Sukmavati Sukarnaputri, 70, is Indonesian.

In 2018, radical Islamic organizations filed a blasphemy complaint against her. She was accused of reciting a poem insulting Islam.

According to The Sunday Morning Herald, the daughter of the former Indonesian president has apologized.

Indonesia has the largest number of followers of Islam. This Southeast Asian country is actually also the country with the largest Muslim population in the world.

Sukmavati Sukarnoputri had previously participated in many Hindu ceremonies and interacted with religious heads in Hinduism.

Her decision to convert is supported by his brothers, Guntur Soekarnoputra, and Guruh Soekarnoputra, and sister Megavati Soekarnoputri.

Even her children i.e. son  Muhammad Parveera Utama, Prince Haryo Paundrajarna Sumautra Jeevenegara, and Gusti Raden Ayu’s daughter Sinivati ​​have accepted her decision.

An invitation card inviting people to attend Sudhi Vadani was published by some Indonesian media houses and circulated on internet media.

But Sukarnoputri’s family has said that due to the Corona protocol, it will be only a small private function on Tuesday and the invitation letter is only for close family members and relatives.

The family has requested the public not to attend the function even if they are invited.
