BJP assured the return of all former Indian marines who have been sentenced to death in Qatar. The BJP on Friday said India will fight a legal battle to bring back the former marines.

BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok, while speaking to the media on Friday, said that the Ministry of External Affairs is already looking into the matter.

He said that India has duly presented its stand on this issue.

Former Indian officials sentenced to death in Qatar.

Let us tell you that a court in Qatar on Thursday sentenced eight former Indian Navy personnel to death. India has called this decision a very shocking step. Also, India is exploring all legal options in this matter.

According to news agency, eight Indians working with private company Al Dahra were arrested in August last year in an alleged espionage case. However, the allegations have not been made public yet.

Foreign Ministry is exploring legal options.

On the death sentence to the Indians, the Ministry of External Affairs had said on Thursday that we have preliminary information that a court in Qatar has given its verdict regarding the matter involving eight Al Dahra Company employees who are Indian.

The Foreign Ministry said that we are shocked by the death penalty decision. We are gathering more information regarding the punishment.

The Foreign Ministry said that we are exploring legal options and it will be raised with the Qatari authorities.
