Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi died at the age of 86. President and PM Modi expressed grief over former Assam Chief Minister’s death, lost veteran.

He was on ventilator at a hospital in Guwahati for the past several days.

Many prominent leaders including the President, PM Modi have expressed deep condolences on the demise of the former Chief Minister.

President Ramnath Kovind tweeted that the mind is very sad with the death of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

The country has lost a veteran leader, a person with rich political and administrative experience. His tenure as Chief Minister in Assam was a transformative period.
