Idli is not only tasty but is also very beneficial for health. It is rich in protein, carbohydrates, and fiber which makes it a fulfilling breakfast. However, many people complain that they cannot make fluffy idlis like the ones available in the market at home. 1. Urad dal – 1 cup
2. Rice – 3 cups
3. Salt – according to taste
4. Water – as per requirement
1. To make Idli, first, soak urad dal and rice in water for at least 4-5 hours.
2. Then grind the soaked dal and rice in a mixer. Keep in mind that while grinding, keep adding a little water so that the solution does not become thick.
3. After this, cover the ground solution in a vessel and let it ferment in a warm place for 8-10 hours.
4. When fermented, the solution will foam and its quantity will increase.
5. After this, pour the fermented solution into the idli plate.
6. Now place the idli plate in the idli steamer and steam it for 15-20 minutes.
7. After steaming, your idlis are ready. Serve them with hot sambar and chutney.
