Five Schools In Bengaluru Received Bomb Threats

Five schools in Bengaluru received bomb threats, police engaged in an investigation.

Around five schools in Bengaluru have received threatening mail warning of a bomb blast. The police gave this information on Friday.

According to the police, ‘the threat mail reads that powerful bombs have been planted in the school premises.’ After this, the active police started investigating the matter.

Apart from this, a warning has also been given in the mail about taking the email as a joke.

The mail said, ‘A very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, caution is not a joke, it is not a joke, a very powerful bomb has been planted in your school premises.

Call the police immediately, hundreds of lives can be lost. Don’t delay now everything is in your hands. Police said that the search operation is going on in five schools on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant informed about the incident and said that immediately after receiving information from the schools, the bomb disposal squad was dispatched to those schools.

He further told that our team is investigating on the basis of e-mail and on getting the information, it will be shared through the media.

Mullaperiyar Dam Dispute: Only the reconstituted supervisory committee will look into the matter till the regular tribunal is formed- Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court on Friday heard the ongoing Mullaperiyar dam dispute case between Kerala and Tamil Nadu and ordered the reconstitution of the supervisory committee.

The court gave more powers to the committee and said that the chief secretaries of both the states would be accountable for following the directions of the committee on all issues, including safety of the dam.

A bench of the apex court headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar is hearing the matter.

The court has said that till the time the dam regulatory authority is not constituted, the supervisory committee on Mullaperiyar dam can take all decisions related to it.

Earlier in the hearing held on Tuesday, the Central Government had told the Supreme Court that it would take a full year for the National Dam Safety Authority to function fully.

Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, appearing for the Central Water Commission, had argued that the existing supervisory committee should continue to function till then.
