Five died due to poisonous liquor in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, many in critical condition, police engaged in investigation.
Five people died of poisonous liquor in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday night, while many are said to be critical.
The critically ill people have been admitted to Morena District Hospital and Gwalior hospitals.
Police have confirmed the deaths of four people till late in the night, while the villagers say that five people have died.
Police investigating
SDOP Sujit Bhadoria says that death due to excessive drinking or poisonous liquor will be revealed only after investigation.
Police are questioning the people of the village to find out how many people have become ill after drinking alcohol.
Police said that firstly in Chhera Manpur area of Baghini police station area of Morena, the condition of Jitendra Yadav deteriorated, while dying while going to the hospital.
Many people feel sick
When people reached the village with Jitendra’s body, it was found that drinking of liquor has deteriorated the health of Dhruv Yadav,.
Sirnam, Deepesh, Brijkishore, Dilip Shakya, Dharmendra Yadav, Rajkumar Yadav and others. Villagers told that Dhruv Yadav also died at night.
The police reached the spot late at night after getting information about the incident.
Alcohol was served at the party
Police also received the death of 31-year-old Jitendra Gurjar, 34-year-old Ramnivas Gurjar in Pawali village of Sumavali police station area of Morena district at 11.30 pm.
Police officer-in-charge Ravi Gurjar said that all the people had gone to a party where chicken was also served along with alcohol.
After eating and drinking there, the condition of everyone became critical.
14 people were killed last year
Earlier in Ujjain, 14 people died due to drinking poisonous liquor in October. A campaign was then launched against illegal wine makers and sellers across the state.
Despite this, illegal liquor was being sold in the adjoining areas of Morena city.
Morena Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania said that four people have been reported dead in the Bagchini and Sumavali police station area of the district.
The matter is being investigated.
